Podcasts have been known in the media landscape for many years and have once again come to the fore in the context of the pandemic. With the task of creating podcasts, the focus is on developing students' skills, testing and deepening independent and creative possibilities for project work. In terms of content, the podcasts serve as
1. presentation medium for technical content
2. as a project that is implemented together with social work clients.
In the Department of Social Work, Bachelor's students in Project Studies 2 - Practical Project (focus on youth and family) and Master's students in the Social Work programme were able to choose podcasts as an alternative examination in selected seminars.

The challenge of teaching

Goals of your practical example

The range of typical presentation formats/media (PowerPoint, scientific poster) is extended by the podcast format, a low-threshold, modern and popular medium.

With the podcast as an alternative examination format, knowledge is presented in a very accessible way. In addition, student motivation increases with the prospect of the examination being published.

The complete description of the concept can be found on the website of the INSPIRE project of the EAH Jena.
