eTeach at the Parliamentary Evening

Digital transformation in Thuringia - moving more together

The Parliamentary evening of digital transformation in the Thuringian state parliament on 3 April - organized by the Digital Agency Thuringia - was a strong signal: Thuringia wants to and can lead the way digitally.

As eTeach Network Thuringia We were able to help shape this evening - with around 200 stakeholders from politics, administration, business and science. Our deputy academic director, Dr. Simon Frisch, was present at the previous working meeting to meet with potential synergy partners.
And one thing became very clear: Digital transformation is not a question of individual projects, but a task for society as a whole. Whether in administration, healthcare, in companies or in education - the Digitalization affects us all. It demands new skills, new forms of cooperation and a new understanding of responsibility.

The speeches by Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Mario Voigt and Digital Minister Steffen Schütz made a clear appeal: Now is the time to shape together - not to manage. Openness, innovation and cooperation are the tools with which we can successfully shape the digital transformation in Thuringia.

The presentation of the special evaluation of the D21 Digital Index has shown that Digital participation is not a matter of course. This is precisely where we see a great need for action: How can we get everyone on board - regardless of age, background or educational background?

For us as a network that deals with teaching and learning in the digital space, one thing is clear: Digital education is a central keyto ensure sovereignty, participation and sustainability - not only in universities, but in society as a whole.

The evening was encouraging: many different perspectives, a common will. Now it's a matter of using the momentum, forming alliances and to take joint responsibility for digital progress.

Thanks to Digitalagentur Thüringen for the organization - and to all the co-creators for the open, constructive exchange.

Many thanks for the photos to Bastian Dietzel.
