Self-assessment refers to the use of web-based tests that enable learners to independently test their own skills in a specific area and receive direct feedback without the involvement of third parties (e.g. student advisors or lecturers). Sometimes it is also possible to retrieve hints for the solution. Self-assessment forms usually work with automated and clearly evaluable examination formats (multiple choice, drag & drop, sequence, etc.).
