Dear colleagues and teachers,

my name is Gerd Mannhaupt and I am Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Erfurt. At the end of last year, the presidents of all Thuringian universities gave the green light to strengthen the eTeach network. This will enable strong support for teachers both at the universities and from a strengthened coordination.A contact point is currently being set up at each university staffed for on-site support. The central coordination team consists of two specialist units for media didactics and learning technologies and three other people for communication, project support and coordinative tasks. The management of the eTeach network Thuringia is in the hands of a Strategy Councilwhich was constituted in February 2021. The members of the Strategy Council appointed me as Academic management of the network. Together with you, the eTeach team is seizing the opportunity to advance digital and media-enriched learning and teaching and is looking forward to working with you!
Looking back: We would like to thank everyone involved!
The eTeach team would like to thank everyone involved! You have turned eTeach into a lively network, contributed the perspective and wishes of your university, developed ideas for its continuation and helped to create a coherent concept for the coming years. Last but not least, you have carried out valuable networking work at your university, attended courses and participated in working groups. Special thanks to Dr. Andreas Mai. Until the end of March, he shaped the development of the network as eTeach project manager. I would also like to thank the multipliers from the writing group of the eTeach 21+ application as well as the contributors from the "Tutors@eTeach" working group, the "Good Practice" working group, the "Welcome Course" working group and the lawyers from the "Tutorials on copyright and data protection" initiative. Thanks to their suggestions, we were also able to develop a focus on content in the eTeach course program and, over the past two semesters, to offer a total of 24 online training courses for university lecturers on various digital teaching topics organize and implement. 250 teachers from Thuringia and even from all over Germany took part. Our courses were all fully booked and the waiting lists were long. This drives us to expand our portfolio. We invite you to continue to participate in this development!
Looking ahead: joint steps and important dates
eTeach aims to contribute to jointly and profitably exploiting the opportunities of digitalization for university teaching and efficiently mastering the associated challenges. To this end, existing expertise will be pooled and participatory cooperation between universities will be expanded. Through the exchange between network players and with lecturers, needs are identified and transferred into a broad, cross-university portfolio of offers and services for digitally enriched teaching. At the same time, incentives are created to shape and establish the development of good teaching. The following cornerstones will guide this:
- The Qualification program with training opportunities and courses on fundamental topics and current challenges of media-enriched teaching and learning. There will already be offers in the course of the current summer semester, which we will inform you about in good time.
- The eTeach network Thuringia promotes innovative impulse projectsthat digitally enrich and advance teaching and learning at Thuringian universities. The results of the projects serve as inspiration for teachers at all Thuringian universities and can be integrated into learning, teaching and examination programs. The first round of calls has already taken place and a second round will be launched in the fall. All information on the impulse projects can be found on the eTeach website.
- A good practice platform provides all Thuringian universities with tried and tested Methods and tools media-enriched teaching. At the same time, this service provides the opportunity to pool experience and expertise from teaching practice and make it accessible to the entire network.
- Via the eTeach network events which bring together stakeholders in Thuringia and across Germany to exchange ideas on specific topics as well as across disciplines. The aim is to pool experience and expertise, think along with innovation and initiate synergies. In addition to the annual eTeach conference, planned formats include expert presentations, digital round tables and working group meetings.
Satve the Date: Annual conference on 08.10.2021We cordially invite you to the third conference of the eTeach network on Friday, October 8, 2021. The focus of the event will be on reflecting on, revising and consolidating media-based examination formats as part of skills-oriented teaching and learning. The focus will be on alternative forms of examination, but also media didactic concepts and competence models and higher education didactic change processes. Together, we are looking for impulses and developments that we can take up in the eTeach network and turn into offers for you. We invite all teachers, university didactics experts, academics and interested parties from Thuringia and the whole of Germany to participate. We will be happy to inform you about program planning and registration procedures! |
