Digitalization has noticeably changed everyday university life. It creates freedom, enables flexible working and learning, makes many things easier and at the same time more demanding. This is because the new freedom also increases the pressure: constant availability, endless information flows and the feeling of having to be "always on" have long been part of everyday life for many students and lecturers.

How can we teach and learn well under these conditions? This input is about mental health in digital teaching and learning settings, about opportunities, risks and how digital formats can be designed in such a way that they not only impart knowledge, but also promote an environment that strengthens resilience, participation and mental well-being. We will discuss how teachers can support students while also keeping an eye on their own mental health. This is based on experiences and good practices from the think tank "Wellbeing & Mental Health in the Digital Age" of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung.

The aim is to provide impetus for a university culture in which digital teaching is not overburdened and in which mental health is understood as a shared responsibility.
